Inclusive Excellence in Action

Inclusive Excellence is not merely a concept but a lived commitment, actively demonstrated through initiatives that foster equity, belonging, inclusion, access, and social justice across our campus community. The Division of Institutional Equity (DOIE) spearheads these efforts, offering programs that translate our values into tangible actions.

One such initiative is the Inclusive Excellence in Action Series—a dynamic monthly program that delves into key areas of equity and inclusion. These sessions provide practical insights, share valuable resources, and equip participants with actionable skills to foster inclusivity in their personal and professional lives. Past topics include “Supporting Religion and Pluralism at UMBC,” “Cultivating Radical Love & Belonging at UMBC,” and “Supporting Accessibility and Inclusion”.

Inclusive Excellence is a shared endeavor that thrives on the active participation and contributions of our diverse community members. The Division of Institutional Equity (DoIE) invites students, faculty, and staff to showcase and share their initiatives that embody inclusive excellence. By highlighting these efforts, we aim to inspire collaboration, celebrate diversity, and foster an environment where everyone feels valued and empowered.
